You will first be guided to visit the landmarks of Shanghai, including Shanghai World Financial Center, Yuyuan Garden, and the Bund. Then head to Zhangjiajie to have a glimpse of Hallelujah Mountain, conquer 999 steps to reach the highest natural cave in the world overlooking the magnificent view of waterfalls, dense forests, and rushing creeks.

Day-by-day Itinerary
- Day 1: Shanghai Arrival (no meal)
Upon your arrival at Shanghai airport / train station, our local driver will pick you up from the exit gate by holding a welcome board with your name and transfer to downtown hotel for checking-in. Free and easy on your arrangement for rest of the day.
- Day 2: ShanghaiShanghai Museum, Yuyuan Garden, Yuyuan Market, Shanghai World Financial Center, Nanjing Road, the Bund (Lunch)
AM: Shanghai is an intoxicating hybrid of ancient China and a prosperous modern metropolis. Today, your exploration begins with the Shanghai Museum at People’s Square (closed on each Monday). Established in 1952, the Shanghai Museum has a collection of more than 120,00 rare cultural pieces from the Old Stone Age to modern times.
After that, move on to the beautiful Yuyuan Garden. Yuyuan Garden is a masterpiece of classical gardens and a must-visit place in Shanghai. There are over 40 scenic spots scattered in the garden. While you navigate the garden at the company of your tour guide, you will understand more about profound traditional Chinese culture fully embodied in every nook and cranny of the garden.
After visiting the pretty Yuyuan Garden, you will wander around the lively Yuyuan Market. You can get everything here from traditional Chinese crafts like chopsticks, fans, and pottery to local delicacies such as steamed buns, crab shell cake, and pork chop with rice cakes. Don’t forget to haggle for a better price.
Noon: Lunch in local restaurant.
PM: Next, you will visit Shanghai World Financial Center, a tall skyscraper in Pudong New Area. It boasts a total of 104 floors with 3 floors under the ground and 101 floors above the ground, among which Floor 94, 97 and 100 serves as sightseeing halls. You will have chance to see for yourself and go up to the 100th floor to have a marvelous panoramic view of the Huangpu River. Walking on the 55-meter long transparent sightseeing corridor will be an exciting experience.
Nanjing Road is the earliest shopping street in Shanghai. Your tour guide will point out the four time-honored department stores, Yong’an Company, Xianshi Company, Xinxin Company and Daxin Company, from which you can get a bit history of this commercial street. If you want to try some delicious food, the street definitely will not disappoint you.
The last stop is the Bund, which is one of the most sought-after places in Shanghai because of its historic significance and impressive view. Some Chinese couples even choose the Bund to take their wedding photos. You will love walking along the waterfront, watching the ships passing, and appreciating the old colonial buildings.
Optional night activity:
Option A: Attend an entertaining Acrobatic Show, which one of the best theaters in China. You will definitely be amazed by the perfect balance and agility of the daring acrobats and wonder how they manage to control their body so well.
Option B: Take a relaxing Huangpu River night cruise to enjoy the spectacular scenery on the bank. Huangpu River separates Shanghai into two parts, Pudong and Puxi. Cruising on the river will give you an unparalleled view of the city’s skyline and an unforgettable traveling experience.
the Bund - Day 3: Shanghai – Zhangjiajie by FlightYellow Dragon Cave (Lunch)
AM: Our driver will pick you up from your hotel lobby at confirmed time, transfer to the airport and catch morning flight to Zhangjiajie. Upon your arrival, your local guide will greet you at the exit of arrival hall by holding a name sign. Before getting off the plane, please double check your belongings to ensure you have collet all your staff.
Noon: Lunch in local restaurant.
PM: Then your guide ad driver will take you to explore the fantastic Yellow Dragon Cave. The cave is praised as “all-round champion” by domestic and foreign geological authorities because it boasts the most complete and beautiful cave landscape with the largest scale. You will appreciate the pointing stalagmites, take a boat to explore the deep underground river (the river is rich with second-class state-protected giant salamanders and translucent glass fish), and see the great stone fall and interesting stone monkeys of various shapes.
After you have fun in this mesmerizing underground palace, your guide and driver will transfer you to your downtown hotel for a good rest.
Yellow Dragon Cave - Day 4: ZhangjiajieGlass Bridge, Tianzi Mountain, Yuanjiajie, Bailong Elevator, Glass Bridge, (Lunch)
AM: Your guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel lobby in the morning and take you directly to Tianzi Mountain. There is a saying that you will not want to see any other mountains after visiting Tianzi Mountain. One of the spectacular sights is the sea of clouds after rain if you are lucky. You will witness rugged rocks and a forest of stone peaks which looks like a group of warriors listening to orders.
Noon: Lunch in local restaurant.
Tianzi Mountain PM: After lunch, we will go to explore Yuanjiajie, the inspiration for Hallelujah Mountain in the super famous movie Avatar. You can experience Bailong Elevator, the highest and heaviest outdoor elevator in the world. You will be amazed by the speed of the elevator, only 1 minute and 58 seconds up to Yuanjiajie. When you step out of the elevator, a magical landscape painting will unfold in front of you. The massive quartz-sandstone pillars are just towering over you or next to you.
Then move on to Challenge yourslef at the longest and highest Glass Bridge in the world with a length of 430 meters. You can have a panoramic view of Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon walking on the transparent glass floor. You may be scared to step on the bridge at first, but once you take the first step, you will enjoy the magnificent view of flying waterfalls, lush forests, running streams.
After the whole day tour, the guide and driver will escort you back to your hotel.
Zhangjiajie Glass Bridge - Day 5: Zhangjiajie DepartureTianmen Mountain, 99-bend Road, Glass Skywalk, Tianmen Mountain Temple, 999 steps to Tianmen Cave (Lunch)
AM: In the morning, meet your guide and driver at your hotel lobby and check out as you will take departure flight directly after today’s tour. Please pack your belongings in advance.Today is all about Tianmen Mountain, famous for Tianmen Cave (which means a gate to the heaven in Chinese). You will take the 7,455-meter-long cable car up to the top of Tianmen Mountain for 28 minutes, appreciating the amazing scenery and taking photos of 99-bend Road on the way. Then you will explore the mountain, walk on the thrilling Glass Skywalk hanging on the cliff and visit Tianmen Mountain Temple which was built in the Tang Dynasty and became the center of Buddhism activities in western Hunan.
Next get to Tianmen Cave, a natural water-eroded cave with the highest elevation in the world. From ancient to modern times, numerous people from emperors to normal people come here to pray for blessings. You can conquer the 999 steps to Tianmen Cave (Heaven’s Door Cave) and enjoy the wonderful scenery from above.
Noon: Lunch in local restaurant.
PM: After lunch, it’s time to say goodbye to Zhangjiajie. Your guide and driver will transfer you to the airport for your flight. Our service will end here. Wish you a pleasant journey.
