Day-by-day Itinerary

  1. Upon your arrival at Beijing airport / train station, our driver will pick you up from the exit gate by holding a welcome board with your name. Drive around 1 hour to Beijing downtown hotel for your check in. Free and easy on your own arrangement for rest of the day.

  2. AM: Our guide and driver will pick you up from hotel after breakfast. Then you will visit the famous Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. After a short sightseeing at Tiananmen Square, you will walk across the Golden Water Bridge and come to the splendid Forbidden City built 600 years ago, where you will be impressed by the gorgeous imperial palaces and vast storage of historical relics.

    Noon: Lunch in local restaurant.

    Forbidden City

    PM: After lunch, visit the Jingshan Park where you will have opportunity to take a picture of Forbidden City with the best angle. Next, go to South Luogu Lane, one of most famous Hutong in Beijing. With the history of over 740 years, It’s one of the oldest blocks in Beijing beyond doubt, keeping well the features of Beijing local folk residence. The last stop is Houhai, a part of the Shicha Lake. It’s a well-known place for old Beijing locals to entertain themselves and avoid summer heat. Since ancient time, it has been very busy with the hawking stalls selling authentic local snacks there. Finish today with hotel drop-off.

  3. AM: At 8am, our English speaking tour guide and driver will pick you up from the hotel lobby. Today begins with the famous world’s heritage – Mutianyu Great Wall. It is the most scenic part of Chinese Great Wall. It was built in the early Ming Dynasty at 1368 and stretches 5400 meters. 90% of the Mutianyu Great Wall is covered by vegetation. So in each season this part of the Great Wall will treat visitors with its unique scenery. The usual suggested hiking time is 2 hours on the wall. Cable car is available and optional (cost on your own). If hiking is too much for you, cable car is available and optional.

    Noon: Lunch in local restaurant.

    PM: After lunch, board the car back to downtown. On the return way to city area, we will make a stop at Water Cube and Bird's Nest where you can pay an outer visit to the gyms which were especially built for 2008 Beijing Olympics. It would also be a great chance to take some great pictures.

    Next, come to visit Dingling Tomb, one of the most visited Ming Tombs in Beijing. It is the only officially excavated one among the 13 Ming Tombs. Finally, return to your hotel.

  4. AM: After breakfast, meet your guide and driver in hotel. First stop of today is Beihai Park. Standing at the northwest of Forbidden City, Beihai Park is one of the oldest and best-preserved royal gardens. It had served as royal garden since Liao Dynasty to Qing Dynasty. Nexr, visit the Beijing local folk residence: Hutong Alley. There is opportunity for you to take a rickshaw to explore Hutong to see daily life of native Beijing people. Following the local expert guide, you will find another face of the city that totally different from what you see in major streets.

    Noon: Pay a visit to the local family at Hutong and have lunch here. Dumplings Cooking Class from the host is available if you have interest in it.

    Beihai Park

    PM: In the afternoon, we will pay a visit to Beijing Zoo to see some rare animals in China and the highlight here will be lovely pandas. Then head to the Confucius Temple, the memorial temple for the greatest educator in Chinese history. The last stop today is Imperial Academy which just locates at opposite of Confucius Temple. It was the highest educational institution in Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties. Today, it’s the only completely preserved relics of Chinese ancient educational institution.

    After the trip, come back to hotel.

  5. AM: After hotel breakfast, board the car to start today’s ttip from Capital Museum (closed on each Monday). It was built on site of Beijing Confucius Temple. Through the 5000+ exhibition relics, you will learn about the city’s history and development, Chinese folk culture, Chinese traditional ceramic artworks, etc. That would be a great visual and spiritual feast. Next, visit Temple of Heaven. Located at southern part of Beijing, it served as a complex of sacrificial building where emperors of Ming and Qing Dynasties prayed for peace and harvest.

    Noon: Lunch in local restaurant.

    PM: After lunch, we will move on to Summer Palace. It is located at the west skirt of Beijing and covers an area of 290 hectares. During the Qianlong Era of the Qing Dynasty, the Summer Palace was built by imitating the layout of the West Lake in Hangzhou. Now it is the largest and most completely preserved imperial garden in China. The last stop is Yonghe Palace (also called Lama Temple) where two emperors of the Qing Dynasty bore. Yonghe Palace is also called The Lama Temple because it was translated into the largest Buddhist temple in Beijing in Mid and Late Qing Dynasty.
