This 6-day trip starts in Shanghai, the most prosperous city in China, where you will discover the old and new features of Shanghai, while also having some unique experiences such as walking along Nanjing Road and Huangpu River night cruise. After relaxing in Zhujiajiao Water Town, head to Zhangjiajie for 3 enjoyable days. Day-by-day Itinerary
- Day 1: Shanghai Arrival (no meal)
Upon your arrival at Shanghai airport / train station, our local driver will pick you up from the exit gate by holding a welcome board with your name and transfer to downtown hotel for checking-in. Free and easy on your arrangement for rest of the day.

- Day 2: ShanghaiShanghai Museum, Yuyuan Garden, Yuyuan Market, Shanghai World Financial Center, Nanjing Road, the Bund (B + L)
AM: Shanghai is an intoxicating hybrid of ancient China and a prosperous modern metropolis. Today, your exploration begins with the Shanghai Museum at People’s Square (closed on each Monday). Established in 1952, the Shanghai Museum has a collection of more than 120,00 rare cultural pieces from the Old Stone Age to modern times.
After that, move on to the beautiful Yuyuan Garden. Yuyuan Garden is a masterpiece of classical gardens and a must-visit place in Shanghai. There are over 40 scenic spots scattered in the garden. While you navigate the garden at the company of your tour guide, you will understand more about profound traditional Chinese culture fully embodied in every nook and cranny of the garden.
After visiting the pretty Yuyuan Garden, you will wander around the lively Yuyuan Market. You can get everything here from traditional Chinese crafts like chopsticks, fans, and pottery to local delicacies such as steamed buns, crab shell cake, and pork chop with rice cakes. Don’t forget to haggle for a better price.

Yuyuan Garden PM: Next, you will visit Shanghai World Financial Center, a tall skyscraper in Pudong New Area. It boasts a total of 104 floors with 3 floors under the ground and 101 floors above the ground, among which Floor 94, 97 and 100 serves as sightseeing halls. You will have chance to see for yourself and go up to the 100th floor to have a marvelous panoramic view of the Huangpu River. Walking on the 55-meter long transparent sightseeing corridor will be an exciting experience.
Nanjing Road is the earliest shopping street in Shanghai. Your tour guide will point out the four time-honored department stores, Yong’an Company, Xianshi Company, Xinxin Company and Daxin Company, from which you can get a bit history of this commercial street. If you want to try some delicious food, the street definitely will not disappoint you.
The last stop is the Bund, which is one of the most sought-after places in Shanghai because of its historic significance and impressive view. Some Chinese couples even choose the Bund to take their wedding photos. You will love walking along the waterfront, watching the ships passing, and appreciating the old colonial buildings.
Optional night activity:
Option A: Attend an entertaining Acrobatic Show, which one of the best theaters in China. You will definitely be amazed by the perfect balance and agility of the daring acrobats and wonder how they manage to control their body so well.
Option B: Take a relaxing Huangpu River night cruise to enjoy the spectacular scenery on the bank. Huangpu River separates Shanghai into two parts, Pudong and Puxi. Cruising on the river will give you an unparalleled view of the city’s skyline and an unforgettable traveling experience.

the Bund - Day 3: Shanghai – Zhangjiajie by FlightZhujiajiao Water Town (B + L)
AM: In the morning, you will go to visit the Zhujiajiao Water Town, dubbed “the Venice of Shanghai”, has a history of more than 1,700 years. Walking around the ancient water town, you will feel like traveling back to the Ming and Qing dynasties with elegant stone bridges across the rivers and plenty of old buildings around you. You can stroll around the streets to see as many things as possible, and you can optionally have a relaxing gondola ride to truly experience the charm of water town.
Noon: Lunch in local restaurant.
PM: When you finished the water town tour, our guide and driver will escort you to the airport for flight to Zhangjiajie.
Upon arrival, our local driver will pick you up from the exit gate by holding a welcome board with your name and transfer to local hotel for checking-in. Have a good rest for tomorrow (no guide service)!

Zhujiajiao Water Town - Day 4: ZhangjiajieZhangjiajie National Forest Park, Yellow Stone Village, Golden Whip Stream, Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon, Zhangjiajie Glass Bridge ( B, L )
AM: Today, you’ll start your adventure with Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. It’s the first national forest park in China and was included in World Natural Heritage List in 1992 for the queer forest of quartz sandstone peaks. You will see the pillars rise hundreds of meters into the sky, stroll along tranquil valleys and feel rejuvenated by the fresh air.
Then, head to Yellow Stone Village. With an altitude of more than 1200 meters, it’s the largest and best observation deck to overlook the quartz sandstone peak forest. You can hear the story of Zhang Liang being saved by Huang Shi from your guide while you are walking, and you may come across the cute monkeys on the way.
Noon: Lunch in local restaurant.
PM: After that, move on to Golden Whip Stream, one of the most beautiful sites in Zhangjiajie. The stream winds its way through the hills and valleys and got its name because of passing by the Golden Whip Rock. Just listen to the murmurs of the stream, stroll along the valley and stop to watch the fish swimming in the crystal clear water.
After the relaxing hiking, take the sightseeing bus to exit the forest park and drive around 40 minutes to Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon. Move on to challenge yourself at the longest and highest Zhangjiajie Glass Bridge in the world with a length of 430 meters. You can have a panoramic view of Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon while walking on the transparent glass floor. You may be scared to step on the bridge at first, but once you take the first step, you will enjoy the magnificent view of flying waterfalls, lush forests, running streams.

Zhangjiajie Glass Bridge - Day 5: ZhangjiajieTianzi Mountain, Yuanjiajie Scenic Area, Hallelujah Mountain, Bailong Elevator ( B, L )
AM: Today’s first stop is Tianzi Mountain. There is a saying that you will not want to see any other mountains after visiting Tianzi Mountain. One of the spectacular sights is the sea of clouds after rain if you are lucky. You will witness rugged rocks and a forest of stone peaks which looks like a group of warriors listening to orders.
Noon: Lunch in local restaurant.
PM: After that, continue to explore Yuanjiajie Scenic Area, the inspiration for Hallelujah Mountain in the super famous movie Avatar. You also can experience Bailong Elevator, the highest and heaviest outdoor elevator in the world. You will be amazed by the speed of the elevator, only 1 minute and 58 seconds up to Yuanjiajie. When you step out of the elevator, a magical landscape painting will unfold in front of you. The massive quartz-sandstone pillars are just towering over you or next to you.
Finish all the activities, transfer to Zhangjiajie downtown area for overnight.

Zhangjiajie Tianzi Mountain - Day 6: Zhangjiajei DepartureTianmen Mountain, 99-bend Road, Glass Skywalk, Tianmen Mountain Temple, 999 steps to Tianmen Cave (Lunch)
AM: In the morning, meet your guide and driver at your hotel lobby and check out as you will take departure flight directly after today’s tour. Please pack your belongings in advance.Today is all about Tianmen Mountain, famous for Tianmen Cave (which means a gate to the heaven in Chinese). You will take the 7,455-meter-long cable car up to the top of Tianmen Mountain for 28 minutes, appreciating the amazing scenery and taking photos of 99-bend Road on the way. Then you will explore the mountain, walk on the thrilling Glass Skywalk hanging on the cliff and visit Tianmen Mountain Temple which was built in the Tang Dynasty and became the center of Buddhism activities in western Hunan.
Next get to Tianmen Cave, a natural water-eroded cave with the highest elevation in the world. From ancient to modern times, numerous people from emperors to normal people come here to pray for blessings. You can conquer the 999 steps to Tianmen Cave (Heaven’s Door Cave) and enjoy the wonderful scenery from above.

PM: After lunch, it’s time to say goodbye to Zhangjiajie. Your guide and driver will transfer you to the airport for your flight. Our service will end here. Wish you a pleasant journey.
