Beijing Bus Tour: 1 Day Badaling Great Wall Tour

At around 7:00 am, the English-speaking tour guide will pick you up from the downtown hotel (if your hotel is beyond the third ring road of Beijing city, please come to the appointed meeting place to meet the guide and driver). And then start your Beijing day tour with a visit to Tian’anmen Square. Located in the city center, the square is one of the largest city squares in the world. It is a sacred site for major celebrations, grand gatherings, and foreign affairs receptions in China.

After that, continue walking a short distance north to the Forbidden City, a royal palace of the Ming and Qing dynasties in China, located at the center of Beijing’s central axis. It was listed as a World Cultural Heritage site in 1987. There are nearly 9,000 rooms, and your guide will take you to visit some important sites and tell you stories about what happened here.

After lunch, drive to the Badaling Great Wall, one of the must-visit sections of the Great Wall of China. At Badaling, roads extend in all directions and people can go anywhere, so that’s why it is called “Bada” (in Chinese it means “convenient transportation”). The total length of the Badaling Great Wall is 12 kilometers (5 miles), but nowadays it only opens 3.74 kilometers (2.3 miles) for visitors. There are in total 43 watchtowers built at each interval with regular distance, each with its own unique style. You will be guided to climb the wall and enjoy the beautiful view at the top. After the Beijing group day tour, transfer you back to your hotel.
